Edenderry, Irish name Éadan Doire, meaning “hill-brow of the oak wood” is a town in east County Offaly, Ireland. It is near the borders with Counties Kildare, Meath and Westmeath.
The Swimming pool is located on the Carrick Road of Edenderry Town.
Edenderry is a limited company by guarantee as filed with the government register since 1972. Since its commencement date it has been governed by a board of Directors within the community .The board is headed by the elected chairman at every Annual General Meeting.
In its Early years Edenderry Swimming Pool Only opened from Easter till September 6 months of the year. In 2007 it closed due to lack of funds.
In 2008 it re-opened its doors to the public with New board of Directors. With a New vision its new board of directors strives to encourage employment and economic growth and today it operates a full schedule all year round with a full bank of staff.
It runs educational programs with a vast amount of fitness classes all focused on health and well-being.
Our Mission Statement
We are committed in providing our customers with a variety of aquatic activities that are safe and enjoyable in a clean and healthy environment. These activities will contribute to the mental and physical health of the community and to its economic and social well-being.
We are a facilitated with governing bodies in the industry RLSS, STA & Ireland Active. This helps to ensure our staff are briefed & Trained in the requirements for swim teaching, coaching, lifeguarding and fitness instructors. this allows us to maintain effective standards defined by those roles.
Our primary objective is to ‘encourage and promote swimming in our community’, to provide children, adults, the elderly, those with special needs with life skills such as water safety skills, with swimming skills and in improving general fitness that will lead to healthier lifestyles for all members of our community.

Our aim is to provide children and adults with life skills which will lead to healthier lifestyles. We have always explored new ideas and new ways in teaching Children.

Our New development project has been under way since 2008 when the new board of directors formed. The New development continues to be strive for and in time when funds are their it will be constructed. Community will always be at the heart of Edenderry Swimming Pool
